Big Trouble Serials

Mascot Pictures made several cliffhanger serials in the Big Trouble franchise starring John Wayne besides Big Trouble in Little China (1936). Others include Big Trouble in The Casbah (1932), Big Trouble in Little Atlantis (1934), Big Trouble in Haiti (1938) featuring Mantan Moreland, A Little Trouble in the Big Top (1936), Big Trouble in Chattanooga (1935), and Big Trouble Up in Harlem (1938) which turned out to be the last installment starring The Duke. You might also notice Francis X. Bushman and Jack Mulhall in the opening clip from this medley of trailers for the series. Also watch for Boris Karloff's arm emerging from a sarcophagus.

This mashup includes visuals and/or audio from:
The Three Musketeers (1933)
Manfish (1956)
SOS Coast Guard (1937)
Blood Tide (1982)
King of the Zombies (1941)
The Hurricane Express (1932)
The Shadow of the Eagle (1932)
Painted Faces (1929)
Destroy All Planets (1968)
Brainiac (El barĂ³n del terror, 1962)
Moon Over Harlem (1939)
Big Timers (1945)
The Ghoul (1933)

...and music from:
Shadow of Chinatown (1936)

Islamic Depictions of Mohammed in full

Mohammed 13th Century, from a Persian manuscript
Here's a page showing dozens of paintings and depictions of Mohammed, apparently made by respectful Muslims. I haven't seen the second part of the latest South Park where images of Mohammed were supposedly censored, but as long as they were experimenting with it, it would have been interesting if they had shown a photo of one of these 700 year old paintings of Mohammed. Of course the voice-over or the context of Mohammed around the other characters could still be seen as disrespectful, but how angry can you get at these cartoonists for simply rebroadcasting images that are fairly common (because not all Muslims forbid depictions of Mohammed)? If "zombietime.com" can be trusted, they claim that some of these images or similar ones are displayed in multiple museums around the US.

Hitler's Brain Finds Out About the Hutaree Militia Plot

Clips taken from Fox News (Shepard Smith), Madmen of Mandoras (1963) and Der Untergang (English title "Downfall," 2004).

Scene choices and fictional subtitles are my fault or to my credit. Some sound and video artifacts and editing errors are due to Jaycut.com which is not very precise. Or due to the fact that Windows 7 won't let Ulead Video Studio run properly. On the other hand, Jaycut is free video editing software, so the price is right. Oh yeah, and the shadow of the microphone boom that you can see in the Downfall clip isn't my fault either.

Note that the views of Shepard Smith and Fox News and the subtitles attributed to Hitler are not necessarily my views. The Nazis seemed socialist in name only, definitely right-wing. However, I do feel that the left-right spectrum doesn't express political positions adequately.
